Assistant Professor A. Mohamed Mydeen is Head of the Department from 2.07.2018. He has completed his Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai in the year 2000. He has completed his Master of Engineering Degree in Communication Systems from College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, Chennai in the year 2006. He is doing his Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Communication Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He is having more than fifteen years of experience in teaching, research and industry. His areas of interest include Ubiquitous computing, Wireless Networks, Computer Networks, Wireless Communication and Communication Systems. He has guided various students’ final year projects in UG and PG levels. He has publications from National and International Conferences. He is the Life Time Member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). He was the student member in IEEE organization. He has attended many workshops and seminars as a faculty member of ECE department.

• Data Preparation and Computer Software (DPCS-ITI) –One year certification course from NCVT, New Delhi.

During his academic career, he has done the following tasks.

• Formed new laboratories such Linear Integrated Circuits Laboratory, Digital

Signal Processing Laboratory and Computer Networks Laboratory as per the

Anna University syllabus.

• Organized Faculty Development Programmes, National Conference, Students’

National Level Symposium, Students’ Workshops.

• Acted as Assistant Warden in Men’s Hostel.

• Attended Anna University Examination – Examiner : Both Theory and Practical

for various subjects.

(NAAC) Responsibilities.

• Made a initiatives to make our College as Partner Institute with PALS – PAN IIT

Alumni Leadership Series as Partner Institute which is going effectively from the day of its initiation and it is effectively organized and monitored by Assistant Professor Muniraj Chandra from Mechanical Engineering Department of our College.

• Made a initiatives to make our College as Member Institute with ICT Academy,

Chennai which is going effectively from the day of its initiation and it is

effectively organized and monitored by Associate Professor Dr. S. V. Mahesh

Kumar from our ECE Department of our College.

As a team head, he is trying to provide good quality engineering education with high standard of discipline, moral and ethics. Under his leadership, Department of ECE organized the following activities during the academic year 2018-2019:

• With the guidance from our faculty member, Associate Professor Dr. S. V. Mahesh Kumar, our third year ECE student Mohammed Nawaz made Guinness World Record in designing the Longest Power Strip (50 Sockets) on October 11^th 2018.

• One day workshop on DSP Tools for the faculty members of different colleges in Tamilnadu.

• Intra Departmental Competitions 2019 (IDC 2019) for the department of ECE students on 2^nd February 2019, Saturday in which 6 different events were conducted and the students of our ECE department organized them and participated well in all 6 events. Professor Dr. Safdar Quddus, Department of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore was the Chief Guest in the valedictory function. Dr. Anuja Aloy Mary, Professor, Veltech University and Mr. Mohammed Farooq from VLSI Industry acted as one of the Judges for an event in IDC 2019.

• Students went to Industrial Visit to Neyveli Lignite Corporation, IITM Research Park and other industries to learn about processes happening in industries.

• Mr. M. Anandhan, Staff and Lead in Qualcomm India Private Limited, Bangalore came and delivered the Guest Lecture on “VLSI Design” to our students.

• The students of first year attended one day workshop on Robotics conducted by our college Robotics Club.

• Workshop on various topics have been conducted for our students in a semester and the resource persons from industries and training institute were invited to deliver the lectures and to give hands on training if needed.

• Students’ Mini project work has been initiated for our department students and this work has been assigned to Assistant Professor M. T. M. Kader Saheb Maricar who is having 14 years of Industry Experience from Digital Signal Processing domain. He has been monitoring this students’ Mini project and providing the necessary assistance with the very big support from our faculty members of our ECE department.

• He is the Life Time Member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). He was the student member in IEEE organization.

• He is also Head of Centre for Soft Skill Training Programme (C-SSTP) in this college. C-SSTP provides the training to the students first and second year in Soft Skill, IELTS, Seminar, NPTEL Phase I, NPTEL Phase II every week. The faculty members of other engineering discipline of our college are the members of C-SSTP and they are giving training to our first and second year students.
